Saturday, July 30th, Tweed and Dixie make their first appearance in Alpena. The honest memoirs of country music’s forefathers and all-out rock and roll attitude collide within the beautiful contradiction known as Tweed And Dixie. Meeting somewhere between Waylon and Whitesnake, their sound has been crafted from growing up in the working class, grease-driven Motor City Madhouse and running the backroads of Great Lakes country. The group’s chemistry is comprised of the deeply rooted, country-rock soul of Barry Forster, pop-driven energy of Billy Gunther, gut-busting bass lines and soaring vocals of Rick Maida, and soulful, thunder-drumming of Justin Clifford (and his beard).

Saturday, August 13th, the Joe Band, a tribute to Joe Cocker. His status as one of rock and roll’s enduring performers and his gutsy, gravelly vocal style and unique stage presence make him not only one of the most dynamic singers in the music industry, but one of the most distinctive voices in the history of rock and roll. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to accurately represent one of the most well respected interpreters of classic soul records, big power ballads, and high energy tracks of our generation. Conceived by Chris Benjey, the Joe Band brings together a talented cast of Detroit and Ann Arbor musicians dedicated to one thing: paying homage to a performer who through either influence, inspiration, or both has had a profound effect on our musical lives. The band also pays tribute to the women of sou1..
