TNRN Winter Concert Series at the Aplex!

True North Radio Network is pleased to announce the 2016 Winter Concert Series. The concert series features 5 dates, all at the Aplex Ballroom. This line-up features crowd favorites and great party bands.

The first concert will be a joint effort with True North Radio Network and the Aplex. It will be a New Year’s Eve celebration. The band Risque will be on stage. This 4 piece band is a high energy dance band that covers a wide range of music including Motown, Classic Rock, Top 40, 80’s, as well as hip hop and disco. This band has been featured at various casinos and venues in the midwest. This is their first appearance in Alpena. Admission for this concert will be $15 per person and includes hot hor’dourves throughout the night, pizzas, and party favors. There will be a cash bar. Doors open at 8 and the band will play from 9pm-1am.

Saturday, January 23rd, The System, A Bob Seger Tribute. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bob Seger has had a stellar career spanning more than five decades, with 11 Platinum albums and still has an incredible fan base who love his music. The System is our tribute to one of rock’s most enduring performers. The System has been performing to hundreds of thousands of fans across the midwest for more than a decade. The System – The Nation’s Premier Bob Seger Tribute, has recreated a classic 70s era concert experience consisting of all of the radio hits and fan favorites, combining studio as well as live versions from the multi-platinum “Live Bullet” album! If you’re a Bob Seger fan, you’ll want to see this show!

Saturday, February 27th, It’s Shout!, the Ultimate Beatles Tribute Band. Their extraordinary performances include songs from the Fab Four’s first U.S. releases like “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “She Loves You,” “Twist And Shout” and “I Saw Her Standing There,” as well as an ensemble of eclectic tunes such as “Penny Lane,” “Paperback Writer,” “I Am The Walrus,” and “Hey Jude”. This band drew one of the biggest crowds in the history of the summer concert series last August.

Saturday, March 12th, It’s The Rock Show featuring Tommy K. This bands salutes and pays tribute to 70’s and 80’s rock. They put on an energetic and entertaining show. You’ll be singing along to all the great tunes! They have appeared at the summer and winter concert series and are one of the most requested bands. They played to a standing room only crowd last year.

Saturday, April 9th it’s The Cookies! Preheat your ovens to 350 degrees and get ready for a sweet batch of fresh tunes. Hailing from the Grayling/Gaylord area, The Cookies are the hottest new Motown/dance group around, and have been making smiles and shaking booties everywhere they have appeared. This is their first appearance in Alpena.

All concerts cost $10 per person in advance or $12 at the door, with the exception of New Year’s Eve, which is $15. Doors open at 5:30, and the music is from 7 until 10. There will be a cash bar and concessions including Tony Burgers. Tickets will be available at True North Radio, 1491 M-32 West, Alpena, the Aplex or at Neiman’s Family Market.
