True North Radio Network made a format change effective Friday, May 24th at 11am.  The station formerly known as Thunder Country at 100.7 FM became Thunder Rock 100.7 FM.  “The change was based on surveys from listeners and advertisers in the area”, according to General Manager Darrel Kelly.  Classic rock is the soundtrack of the baby boom generation.  It features the greatest rock from the 70′s , 80′s, and 90′s.  The station will be known officially as “Thunder Rock 100.7, The Sunrise side’s classic rock.”  In addition, a new morning show, “Free Beer and Hot Wings” will be on weekdays from 5 until 10am.  The station can be heard from Alpena to Standish and west to West Branch and Hale.  Welcome to the home of classic rock, “Thunder Rock!”
