Former Rogers City cop faces charges

A former Rogers City Police officer is facing prison time on three charges, including tampering with evidence.

Daniel John Kulik, 40, was with the city department from 2008-2009.He has since resigned from his position in Rogers City and Tuesday morning, turned himself in to the Presque Isle County Jail.

In addition to tampering with evidence, Kulik is charged with misconduct in office and possession of Valium.  He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted on all three counts.

No details of the allegations or investigation have been released.

Kulik is being held on a $50,000 bond.   An arraignment date has not yet been scheduled.  He is being charged by special prosecutor Daryl Vizina of Cheboygan County, who has been assigned to the case.

Kulik is currently listed as a sales agent with Century 21 Harbor Realty Team in Rogers City.
