Winner of the People’s Choice Car Show
Once again, a great turn-out of classic automobiles show up for the Annual People’s Choice Car Show at the Alpena Mall!!! Entry and admission is free. Locals and visitors to the area know it as a long-time tradition that is hosted every year on Tuesday evening during Michigan Brown Trout Festival Week.
Cindy Downing, manager of Alpena’s Burger King, welcomed 59 total entries with a complimentary BK meal certificate. Second place was the ’80 Camero and owner Rick Kosnicki; third place was the ’67 Chevy Nova and owner Jean Palmer. Winners not only received a trophy and/or plaque, but an Alpena Mall-wide gift certificate ranging from $25 to $75.
Hoola-Hoop contestant winner Jacob KcKenzie “hooped” the longest out of 24 entries and walked away with 4 passes to Thunder Falls Water Park in Mackinaw City. Brian Blake of 99.9 The Wave played his “Super Hits of Rock Roll” oldies music to keep things rockin’….. and 107.7 The Bay’s “Spin-to-Win” wheel for grab bag prizes are other special features of the evening.
