St. Patrick’s crowds force early closure of bars
Some bars in Ann Arbor were forced to close earlier than normal Sunday morning due to large crowds of St. Patrick’s Day revelers.
AnnArbor.com reports that up to 1,000 people had gathered on South University around midnight.
Lines to get into some bars were three blocks long.
Ann Arbor police and three other law enforcement agencies had bars close by 1 a.m. Sunday and asked crowds to disperse.
Police said some vehicles in the area were damaged and some people were arrested for disorderly conduct. No injuries were reported.
Cleanup of the area started later Sunday morning.
