City of Alpena leaf and grass pickup schedule

PRESS RELEASE FROM CITY OF ALPENA:

Monday, November 7:
The area east of Ripley Boulevard and south of Washington Avenue.

Tuesday, November 8:
The area north of the river and east of Chisholm Street, from Fourteenth Avenue to the City limits.

Wednesday, November 9:
The area west of Ripley Boulevard and south of Washington Avenue.

Thursday, November 10:
The area north of Washington Avenue and south of the river and west of Chisholm Street, from Fourteenth Avenue to the City limits.

Bagged leafs and lawn clippings should not be placed curbside at this time and should only be placed curbside the day prior to your scheduled pickup and no later than 6 a.m., of your scheduled pick-up day. Any material placed at the curb after 6 a.m. on your pick-up day or after your pick-up day will NOT be collected and you will be required to remove it from the curb.

The contractor for the City of Alpena, Phillips Expert Tree & Landscape Service, will be donating all their time and equipment to perform a second bagged leaf and lawn clipping pick-up at no cost to the City of Alpena on November 21, 2011 through November 23, 2011 and November 28, 2011.

Additional public notices will be issued prior to this curbside pick up.

This pick-up will be the last one in 2011 and is targeting those leaves that fell after the first pick-up.

The City also reminds citizens that the Public Works Service Center is open daily, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drop off of brush and bagged lawn materials for City of Alpena residents only.
