Alpena Thunder unveils team logo

Submitted by Phil Heimerl on May 3, 2010 – 11:12 am3 Comments

The Alpena Thunder hockey team has unveiled its new logo.

According to team owner Joseph Kolodziej, the logo was designed by Johnny Griswold of Puckdrawn, a leading hockey specific graphic design organization.

“We have been looking at several designs while working with Northern Lights Arena management and staff over the past several weeks. “  Said Kolodziej.  “We wanted to find a name and logo that could be identified with the Alpena and Thunder Bay region and I think we have done that.”

The Alpena Thunder Junior Hockey Team is a member of the Northern Junior Hockey League, a Tier III league based in New York, Ohio and Michigan.  The team’s new website can be viewed at www.thunderhockey.net.

Kolodziej said the team is in the final process of interviewing head coaching candidates and the person selected for the job could be announced within the next 10 days or so.

I am wondering who the head coach will be now. Looks like he hired the guy who won coach of the year in the AAHL for this past season, if he can do something similar in Alpena that would be something.
