A 42 year-old Atlanta man who killed his older brother during a drunken stupor has been sentenced to 16-40 years in prison.

Mark Allen Kinser murdered 46 year-old Brian Allen Kinser during the early morning hours of April 21, 2018.

The two men were said to be heavily intoxicated and were wrestling with each other when Mark became angry, grabbed a gun and shot Brian in the head five times.

The murder occurred at Mark’s residence on M-33 in Briley Township, near Atlanta.  Brian Kinser was a resident of Clarkston, Michigan.

Brian’s wife gave an emotional victim’s impact statement during sentencing Monday.  She doesn’t believe the murder was an accident and she talked about how well her husband treated Mark over the years.  She carried a photograph from her wedding day and tore it into five pieces during her statement, one for each bullet that killed her husband.
