The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is holding another public land auction which includes properties in Alpena and Oscoda counties.

Eighty-one individual parcels, ranging in size from less than an acre to 160 acres, will be available for sale by sealed-bid auction starting Tuesday.

The surplus public land parcels are located in counties mainly in central and northern Lower Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula.

Information on the auction, including the minimum bid price, property descriptions and conditions of sale is available at michigan.gov/landforsale.  Instructions for submitting a bid and printable bid forms will be available on the same website Tuesday.

There are six parcels in Alpena and two in Oscoda.  The largest property in Alpena is an 80-acre parcel.

Sealed bids must be postmarked by midnight January 9 and will be opened January 23.

Proceeds from the sale will help provide future outdoor recreation opportunities in keeping with the DNR’s mission.
