Gary Lee Reiser, 73, of Ossineke, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter and her family by his side Nov. 28, 2018.

Gary was born Nov. 2, 1945 in Alpena to Albert and Frances (Zielaskowski) Reiser. Shortly after graduating from Alpena High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served during Vietnam receiving several medals. It was during his time stationed in Bainbridge, Maryland that he met Mary Polanco the love of his life. The two of them were married on July 8, 1967. They settled in Alpena following their service time and started a family. Gary worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker for several years before starting work at GTE where he would retire as a senior construction technician after 25 years. Gary enjoyed hunting and taking his fishing trips to Canada. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2496 and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3762.

Gary is survived by his children; Jeffery (Brenda), Jared (Angela), Jodie (Nathan) Mitchell, 2 brothers, Richard and David, his sister Patricia, 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his close friends; Louis Fettes and Marshall Gratz. He is preceded in death by both parents, Mary, and sister Shirley.

Gary is at McWilliams Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8th from noon until the time of the funeral service at 4 pm with Rev. Stan Bereda officiating.
