Another fair gets underway in northeast Michigan next week.

The 47th annual Alcona County Fair starts Tuesday, and continues through next Saturday.

Over the 5-day period, fairgoers will enjoy a variety of livestock and animal shows that are typical with local fairs; along with a bump and run, laser tag, a cutest baby picture contest, a motocross and BMX bike show, a draft horse pull, a carnival and much more.

In addition, the 3rd annual Mud Run for humans is being held.   The approximate 2-mile obstacle course will take racers through muddy pits, over hay bales, through the woods, over tires, up hills, over walls and more.  Each obstacle has a “walk around” option, which allows participants to bypass the obstacle if they are having a difficult time.

Registration for the mud run is available online via the group’s Facebook page, @AlconaMudRun, by clicking “Book Now”.

Admission to the fair is $5 daily.  A weekly pass is available for $15.  Kids 12 and under get in for free.
