The Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post is holding a 3rd annual Citizen’s Academy, which starts on September 4 and ends on September 27.

The academy provides citizens an opportunity to become familiar with the mission and operation of the MSP, understand the procedures troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community, and get to know personnel at the local post.

The academy will meet at the Alpena post on Tuesday and Thursday nights for the four-week time frame, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  At the completion of the academy, a small graduation ceremony will be held.

Individuals who are interested in attending the academy should contact Trooper Ashley Simpson at 354-4101.
